Barratt and David Wilson Homes has sponsored the 150th Driffield Show, held on 22 July at Driffield Showground, giving the housebuilder a presence at one of the UK's largest one-day agricultural shows, which draws more than 23,000 visitors, close to the Driffield sites at Mortimer Park and Porters Way where it is currently building new homes.

The show, a highlight of the town's social calendar, features entertainment, food and craft stalls, livestock competitions and displays of modern farm machinery. The milestone edition was billed to feature the return of Atkinson's Action Horses.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes are housebuilding brands of Barratt Redrow plc, the UK's largest housebuilder, which delivered 17,667 homes in the 52 weeks to 28 June 2026. The Yorkshire East division is building new homes at Mortimer Park and Porters Way in Driffield.

The Driffield Agricultural Society is a registered charity based at Driffield Showground in Kelleythorpe, East Riding of Yorkshire, which it has owned since 1954 and which hosts the annual Driffield Show alongside events throughout the year.

The sponsorship ties a national housebuilder to a local agricultural institution in a town where it has live developments, linking community presence at the show with the sales sites a short distance away.

Cheryl Lynch, a spokesperson for the Driffield Show, said the show was delighted to have the housebuilder's support in 2026 and extremely grateful for the sponsorship, which helped deliver another successful show for visitors.

Paul Hogan, sales director at Barratt and David Wilson Homes Yorkshire East, said the company was delighted to sponsor the 150th show, adding that the event has a huge impact on the community and was extra special to support in a milestone year.

The show has been held at its current showground since 1954 and attracts more than 23,000 visitors a year, according to Yorkshire Post, giving sponsors a concentrated rural audience in a single day.

For the sector, the sponsorship shows how national housebuilders use long-established local shows to build community standing close to their development sites, a goodwill approach that complements, rather than replaces, sales marketing.
