Bidwells has announced a two-year sponsorship of the Botley School Fireworks Night in Oxford, giving the property consultancy a community presence in an area it describes as on its doorstep and committing two years of support to an event whose proceeds go back to the school. The evening brings families together for fireworks, entertainment and fundraising, with activities including a teddy bear hunt, a barbecue and refreshments, and tickets are available through Eventbrite.

Bidwells is a Cambridge-headquartered property consultancy and B Corp-certified firm, employing more than 600 specialists across residential, commercial, rural and science and technology property work. It is the largest property consultancy in the Oxford to Cambridge Arc region, with an Oxford office at Wallbrook Court on North Hinksey Lane.

The Botley School Fireworks Night is a fundraising event for Botley School in Oxford, with its parent teacher association treasurer describing it as a chance to bring the local community together.

Maxine Reynolds, head of residential sales at Bidwells, said: “Botley is right on our doorstep, so this one really matters to us.” She added that knowing every penny raised goes straight back into the school for the children makes the event even better, and that she is looking forward to being there on the night.

Bidwells said the sponsorship reflects its commitment to supporting the communities in which it operates and helping local events thrive.

Bob Higton, PTA treasurer at Botley School, thanked Bidwells for its generous support and said backing from local businesses makes a real difference in helping the school deliver events like this one.

Bidwells is described as the largest independent property consultancy outside London, according to Wikipedia, which makes a school fundraising sponsorship a notable local commitment for a firm of its scale.

It follows a run of community event sponsorships by property and housing firms, including Barratt David Wilson Homes’ backing of Gillingham Carnival, according to Yahoo News UK.

For the sector, the deal shows property consultancies using small school fundraisers to build goodwill close to their offices, extending visibility into local families and communities.
