Six companies back Galway Races’ Race in Pink to support breast cancer research

The Galway Races has announced six sponsors for its Race in Pink event last 26th October 2025, raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI). The autumn fixture blends National Hunt racing with charitable efforts, drawing attention to breast cancer research across Ireland.

Colm Quinn BMW has sponsored a race and run the BMW iX2 Car Raffle, offering tickets at €20 each or three for €50, with the draw scheduled for 4:30pm during the event. The Irish European Breeders’ Fund (Irish EBF), a leading supporter of Irish racing, has sponsored the second race, adding to the day’s prominence.

The feature race at 2pm was supported by Glenman Corporation, while Brasserie on the Corner, known for its community involvement, joined the line-up. Supermac’s has sponsored the 3.05pm Novice Hurdle, and Glenlo Abbey Hotel contributed its five-star prestige. Galway Plastic Surgery also lent its support, reinforcing its dedication to health and local initiatives.

Aoife Carney, Marketing Manager at Brasserie on the Corner, highlighted the community impact: “This event unites Galway in the fight against breast cancer while raising vital funds for NBCRI. Together, we can make a significant difference for those affected.”

Patrick Casey, NBCRI Director of Operations, added: “The backing of these sponsors directly supports life-changing research and patient outcomes. Their involvement ensures that every euro raised contributes to advancing detection, treatment, and care.”
