Irish co-ops back women in dairy with landmark funding model

Ireland’s major milk processors are joining forces to support women in dairy through a new long-term funding partnership with Dairy Women Ireland (DWI). The initiative sees co-ops committing annual contributions based on supplier numbers—marking a shift from one-off sponsorships to sustained investment in gender equity across the sector.

The model, unveiled at Moorepark Dairy Open Day, aims to scale up DWI’s work in education, networking and outreach for women in farming. Backed by nearly all of Ireland’s processors, it signals a united front on inclusion and futureproofing the industry from the grassroots up.
