Kirby Group Engineering has agreed a three-year sponsorship with Atlantic Technological University’s (ATU) Sport Galway GAA clubs, supporting nine teams across hurling, camogie, men’s, and ladies’ football. Approximately 300 players and 400 additional members will benefit during the 2025/2026 academic year.

This marks ATU Sport Galway’s first corporate sports partnership and Kirby’s third significant sporting sponsorship in Ireland, following previous agreements with Galway Camogie and University of Limerick GAA. The company has a history of local community investment across Ireland, the UK, Sweden, Italy, and South Africa.

Mikey Ryan, Group Operations Director at Kirby, highlighted the importance of team participation for fostering friendships, networks, and physical and mental wellbeing. Dr Orla Flynn, President of ATU Galway, welcomed Kirby’s support as a boost to campus sports and talent retention, while Sports Development Officer Molly Dunne noted that the sponsorship helps grow teams, nurture talent, and maximise player success.

The agreement aligns corporate branding with active engagement in high-visibility university sports programmes, strengthening community presence while supporting the development of athletes across multiple sports codes.

The sponsorship is expected to reinforce Kirby’s position as a leading supporter of Irish university sports, providing ongoing visibility and influence across the region.
