MTC has invested more than N$30 million (€1.59 million) in sponsorships, with 13 current beneficiaries valued at N$19.3 million (€1.02 million), according to Windhoek Observer.

The Namibian telecommunications company shared the figures during a sponsorship beneficiaries engagement workshop hosted in Windhoek on 16 February 2026. The workshop brought together sponsored partners for discussions on governance, brand alignment and sponsorship management as part of MTC's efforts to strengthen accountability and improve portfolio impact.

Representatives from the company's events, communications, marketing and sponsorship departments provided guidance on brand management, media engagement, marketing alignment and financial processes linked to sponsored events. The funding supports sport, arts, culture and community development initiatives across Namibia.

Tim Ekandjo, chief brand, marketing, communications and sustainability officer at MTC, addressed beneficiaries and stressed the importance of governance, ethics and social impact. He said MTC aims to invest in initiatives that change lives, empower youth and contribute to building a Namibia future generations can be proud of.

Ekandjo encouraged beneficiaries to focus on impact and urged them to collaborate, create synergies and strive for excellence. "Sponsorship should not be viewed as an endpoint but as an opportunity for growth, inclusivity and extended impact beyond individual organisations," he stated.

He warned against complacency and said MTC is honoured to partner with organisations that have built strong brands in their fields, adding that these partnerships come with rules and responsibilities to ensure regulated relationships.

The engagement highlighted MTC's approach to sponsorship as a partnership based on accountability and shared responsibility, with the company's total sponsorship investment exceeding N$30 million when combined with other commitments.
