Quilter Cheviot Cannon Kirk named title sponsor of PSA Irish Open Squash

Quilter Cheviot Cannon Kirk has been confirmed as title sponsor of the PSA Irish Open Squash, bringing financial services backing to one of Ireland's premier racquet sport events and reinforcing the firm's commercial profile in Irish sport following its acquisition of Gillen Markets last year.

Sport for Business reported that the five-day tournament will get underway on 19 May at the Fitzwilliam Lawn Tennis Club in Dublin, featuring a strong international field across both men's and women's draws with PSA Copper status and equal prize funds of $41,500 (€38,200) in both draws, up from $36,000 (€33,200) in 2025 and $20,000 (€18,400) in 2024.

The men's draw will feature 24 players representing 14 nationalities, with 14 competitors ranked inside the PSA top 70. Defending champion Greg Lobban is set to return, alongside Irish representatives Sam Buckley and Conor Moran. England's Jonah Bryant, currently ranked No.10 on the PSA Tour, is among the headline international names.

The women's draw features a similarly competitive 24-player field from 12 countries, including Egypt's Nada Abbas, ranked No.16 in the women's game, and a strong Egyptian contingent. Irish interest will be led by wildcard entrants Breanne Flynn and Hannah McGugan.

Scott Graham, CEO of Squash Ireland, said the PSA Irish Open is one of the marquee events in the annual calendar and that with Copper status and equal prize money, it continues to attract top players from around the world alongside a strong Irish contingent whose rankings are improving year on year.

The 2026 edition also carries broader significance for the sport, with squash confirmed as part of the Olympic programme for the 2028 Los Angeles Games, a development expected to accelerate commercial interest and sponsorship investment in the sport globally.
