Skechers named WNBA official partner in multiyear deal as league marks 30th season

Global footwear brand Skechers has been confirmed as an official partner of the Women's National Basketball Association in a multiyear deal, formalising a commercial relationship built through individual player endorsements and arriving as the WNBA celebrates its landmark 30th season.

Sports Business Journal reported that the partnership will see Skechers maintain a presence across league platforms, driving fan engagement and supporting player visibility throughout the season. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Skechers made its on-court debut in the WNBA in 2024, when Chicago Sky forward Rickea Jackson became the first player to compete in its basketball footwear in the league. The brand expanded its roster in 2025, signing Washington Mystics forward Kiki Iriafen and Las Vegas Aces shooting guard Jackie Young, who won her third WNBA championship that season.

Colie Edison, WNBA chief growth officer, said the partnership reflects the growing demand from global brands to connect with WNBA fans worldwide, and that the league looks forward to collaborating with Skechers to create unique fan experiences, deepen engagement and elevate the players who power the league.

David Weinberg, chief operating officer at Skechers, said the partnership illustrates the company's long-term commitment to promoting women's basketball and elevating athletes who are enthusiastic about the game at every level, adding that Skechers has been part of the basketball community for several seasons and that fans will now see its innovative footwear take centre stage in the WNBA for the first time.

The deal follows Skechers completing a $9 billion (€8.3 billion) go-private transaction with Brazilian private equity firm 3G Capital in 2025, the largest shoe buyout in history, after which the company's shares ceased trading on the NYSE.
