CPD Porthmadog’s Under-15s squad has secured sponsorship for its new playing kit from Squeaky Clean Cleaning Services, giving a local business visible branding on a youth team and giving the club practical support as its young players prepare for the season ahead. The kit, produced by Teejac, can be worn inside out to show a different colour, and the squad wore it before a match against CPD Nefyn United.

Squeaky Clean Cleaning Services is a Porthmadog cleaning business trading bilingually as Gwasanaethau Glanhau, offering domestic, holiday-let and commercial cleaning to customers in the town and nearby areas. It does not publicly disclose turnover.

CPD Porthmadog is a football club based in Porthmadog, Gwynedd, founded in 1872 and playing at Y Traeth, a ground with capacity for 3,000 spectators. Its senior men’s team competes in the Cymru North, the second tier of Welsh football, and the club runs youth squads including the Under-15s.

A club spokesperson said: “We are extremely grateful to Squeaky Clean Cleaning Services for their generous support.” The spokesperson added that local businesses play a vital role in helping young players grow and progress, and that the new kit is a positive step forward for the team.

The club said the sponsorship reflects Squeaky Clean’s strong commitment to the local community and to the development of youth football in the area. It added that Porthmadog continues to build close relationships with local partners, recognising the importance of community-driven support in strengthening the club and investing in the next generation of footballers.

The club has history to draw on: it was founded in 1872, according to Wikipedia, which gives a local sponsor an association with a club more than 150 years old.

The senior side has recently featured in local match reports, including a dramatic win at Newtown, according to Cambrian News, giving youth sponsors an association with a club that is regularly in the local news.

For the sector, the deal shows how small local service businesses use youth kit sponsorship to reach families and supporters in their own town, a community-led form of sponsorship with a local rather than wide commercial audience.
